They impact the Rockport-Fulton economy by their purchasing of food, gas, supplies, etc. and through their countless hours of volunteerism.\n“The Winter Texans are active volunteers for many of our non-profit organizations, they join our churches, attend our events, enjoy our local attractions, eat at our restaurants, gas up, etc, this is just our way of showing our appreciation,” explains Diane Probst, President/CEO of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.\nWinter Texan spending is felt in direct and indirect ways throughout the community. This direct and indirect spending is experienced when the dollar, generated by the influx of Winter Texans, circulates through the economy several different times keeping the economy flowing and healthy.
